This page contains information about how we will prepare for the group's lessons at CES.

1) Placement Test

We will send you a specific link to a multiple choice placement test which will take students up to 30 minutes to complete. This link will be specific to your group.

Please ask the group leaders to manage the completion of this test so we receive all results at least 2 weeks before arrival and so we can rank and class the students appropriately:

This test will guide us with initial placement of the students in classes. If the tests are completed in good time, we will send a provisional class list and invite the leaders/teachers to suggest any changes that should be made based on students over or underperforming in the test.

The test, of course, only tests students' grammar and vocabulary and cannot assess their speaking and listing abilities. The first lessons on the first day therefore are "assessment lessons" where the teacher is confirming the level of the students and making adjustments to the level and content of the class.

2) Group Needs Analysis (closed groups only, not required for summer school groups)

After we receive the information above we will then send a short summary of what we understand to be the group's needs and interests.

The group leader's feedback will  then be important as this will inform the final information which we will use to brief our teachers.
